Come with me on a journey through My Mind's Eye
I invite you to join me on a journey through my minds eye and into form, that is my drawings and photographs. I will be posting regularly so if you like sharing this adventure with me, click on subscribe to get an email when I add something new.
Nature is my favorite subject when it comes to photography. At this time of year however, when the temperatures dip down toward the single digits and most of nature is hiding under the snow, I focus on the frost patterns on the windows of my early 19th century farmhouse.
Window Ice at Sunrise - December 2017
The window frost forms when warm, moist air condenses on a pane of glass that is exposed to freezing temperatures. Scratches, smudges and irregularities greatly influence how the ice crystals nucleate and grow. The single pane windows of my home create the perfect set of circumstances for the formation of these exquisite jack frost paintings. The patterns melt and reform daily filling me with wonder at the kaleidoscope of repeating patterns and with the pleasure of capturing and sharing them.
