Members of the Hanover Garden Club will make over 300 small holiday greens arrangements this week for housebound members of the Upper Valley community.

The “Tiny Tins” arrangements will be delivered on December 7 to Upper Valley Senior Center Meals-on-Wheels clients, the Hanover Senior Center, Hanover Terrace, Maynard House, The Haven, St. Denis Helping Hands and Sacred Heart Church (Lebanon).

“It is a wonderful club and community event.  We all share in the spirit of the season,” said project chair Diane Guidone. “It is a fun event and a way for our members to reach out to others in the community.”

The Tiny Tins project started last year with the construction of 150 arrangements. It was so successfully that the output was doubled for this Christmas.

Hanover Garden Club members saved cat food and tuna cans, along with decorations, dried flowers and plant material, greens and ribbons for the Tiny Tins project. Area businesses donated a variety of good and services. Holiday greens came from Cube Mountain Products in Orford. Custom printed holiday cards were donated by Staples in West Lebanon. The workshop takes place at the Lebanon Co-op, which donates the use of its Culinary Learning Center.

The positive feedback to the project has club leaders thinking how to grow the project for Christmas 2018.
