The Contract Assessor and Listers agreed to move forward under the terms of the existing contract, at the Selectboard meeting on November 29. William Krajeski who serves as the Contract Assessor through New England Municipal Consultants (NEMC) said that since the Listers are willing to let the contract sit “as is”, he would be “more open about some of the things we do,” according to the meeting video on catv8.org. “The Listers are appreciative of his decision,” said the Board of Listers Chair in an email to me.
NEMC still retains the right to terminate the contract in March. However, the decision by all to move forward means the Grand List will be prepared on time and gives the parties a chance to mend fences.
