Lebanon Police have announced the arrest of 32-year-old Joshua Park who is due to be arraigned at the Grafton County Superior Court on a Class A felony charge of armed robbery in connection with a confrontation involving a sales clerk that took place at 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The clerk told police that they were in a different part of the store when they noticed that a customer had gone behind the front counter and appeared to have picked up a pack of cigarettes and concealed it in his clothing.   The clerk said when they confronted the customer and told him they would call police the man pulled out a handgun in response and then briefly menaced the clerk with it before leaving the store on foot and heading up Heater Road toward Route 120, which is in the general direction of The Boulders condos which are less than a mile away.

After a surveillance picture of the suspect was released, Lebanon Police said they received several tips through their on-line portal, including one that identified Park by name.

During their subsequent investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for an apartment at The Boulders where they believed Park was staying and "due to the possibility that the suspect could be armed with a firearm, the Lebanon Police Tactical and Containment Team was activated to assist. "

"At approximately 3:40 p.m. on (Sunday) the Lebanon Police Tactical and Containment Team made entry through the front door to the apartment, which had been barricaded by the suspect. Once inside, Joshua Park...was taken into custody without further incident," police said in a statement Monday, adding, "Investigators believe Park was armed with a BB pistol during the robbery but that pistol has not yet been recovered. The investigation into this incident is ongoing."
