First Snow on an E-bike
Baby it's cold outside!
The weather-folks predicted a light "snow shower" on Monday, and they delivered.
While the roads were slick and wet, they were no real challenge for my Go Plus electric bike. The bicycle handled the early winter weather like a champion. My face and hands were another story.
The breeze generated by a constant 20 mph speed produced a totally arctic wind-chill factor. This is why it's important to always dress appropriately for the weather: thick bomber-style winter coat, thick wool gloves, and heavy denim jeans or snow pants will cut through the cold with your body temperature still intact.
I took the Go Plus out for a spin around 1 p.m., made a quick detour to the Norwich Post Office to ship a package, and then stopped in at one of my favorite spots in downtown Norwich -- the Norwich Square Cafe -- for a cup of hot coffee and biscotti.
One thing can be said about the cold weather: it certainly builds an appetite.
