Join Hartford Parks & Recreation Department for this FREE trick-or-treating event on Saturday, October 28th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the parking lot of Hartford Town Hall and Lyman Point Park. A family-centered event that encourages active participation.
WHAT IS TRUNK OR TREAT:
Trick or Treat from car to car, trunk to trunk. Costumes highly encouraged. Bring your trick or treat bags. Trunk or Treat is a new spin on Trick or Treating where local businesses/organizations/groups/families bring a vehicle, decorate the trunk/tailgate and pass out treats as kids “Trunk or Treat” from trunk to trunk. Trunk or treating allows kids to have all the trick or treating fun without crossing streets or worrying about traffic. It’s also a great accessibility benefit for those individuals with disabilities or limitations.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
Participation is free! Complete and submit reservation form. We are asking businesses/organizations/groups and families join in on the fun! Provide a vehicle trunk/tailgate/booth decorated in a family friendly Halloween theme, staff dedicated to pass out candy at your trunk and provide enough candy/trinkets/prizes for 300+ trick or treaters. You are welcome, but not required, to promote your business at this event by use of a company vehicle for your “Trunk” as well as hand out goodies promoting your business.
MAKE IT FUN:
Costumes are encouraged. Dress up in coordination with your trunk’s theme! Prizes will be awarded for the following catagories: Most Creative, Best Theme, Most Unique and People’s Choice.
If you cannot attend the event but would like to help, we are also seeking donation of candy and prizes.
We would like to extend the opportunity to your agency/business to participate in this fun event!
A completed Trunk or Treat registration form is required to participate in this event.
