Four busted for heroin trafficking in WRJ
Began as a routine traffic stop on Sykes Mountain Avenue
WHITE RIVER JUNCTION - Two Vermonters and two men from Massachusetts were discovered with 2,300 bags of heroin Tuesday evening during what began as a routine traffic stop on Sykes Mountain Avenue, Hartford Police are reporting.
Police said they initially pulled the vehicle over around 10 p.m. near a car dealership because of a registration violation before noticing drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the car turned up heroin, cash and other indicators of drug dealing, police reported.
Jonathan Castro, 28, and Jose Nunez, both 28 and from Springfield, Massachusetts and Michelle Webster, 32, of Graniteville and Joseph Tomasetto, 27, of Stockbridge were all lodged overnight at the Springfield jail and are all due in court this afternoon in downtown White River Junction to answer to felony charges of heroin trafficking.
