Holyoke Man Arrested for Possession of Heroin/ Trafficking

At approximately 2:25 AM on October 6, Hartford Police responded to the Station Market on Sykes Mountain Avenue for a call reporting that a male was approaching individuals and offering to sell them heroin.

Jonathan Omalis Mercedes aged 25 of Holyoke, Massachusetts was contacted by Officer Thomas Howell at the Station Market. Lebanon Police K9 team also responded to assist. Following a positive alert by LPD K9 Briggs, a search was conducted on Mercedes’ vehicle, where police located 242 bags of heroin, 12 grams of marijuana, as well as $970.00 US Currency

Consequently, Mercedes was taken in to custody, and transported to the Hartford Police Department, where he was charged by Officer Howell with Possession of Heroin/Trafficking.  Mercedes was later transported to Southern State Correctional Facility to await his arraignment at Vermont Superior Court- Windsor Criminal Division.
