It's the fall, the rentrée, or re-entry, into our regular, no-longer-summer lives in the Upper Valley. Welcome back. You could be very busy this week. The arts scene for the week of September 18 alone is an embarrassment of riches, including artists both local and international. Choose among, or choose all of them.
THEATER: 9/20--Northern Stage opens its 21st season with Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, with sneak previews on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Opening night--Saturday. Contact the box office or click here to buy a ticket and a seat at the Barrette Center for the Arts in White River Junction VT.
DANCE: 9/21 and 9/22--MacArthur "Genius" Kyle Abraham brings his dance troupe (featured photo, above) to the Hopkins Center to steep us in love, longing and loss. Hop Programming Director Margaret Lawrence will interview Abraham at 219 Wilson Hall, just before the Friday night performance. New this year--a pop up bar at the Top of the Hop.

WALK: 9/22-- Resonant Spaces, a blockbuster international sound art exhibition at Dartmouth via the Hood Downtown, recently opened on the 15th. Some things to see, everything to hear. There is a walking tour on Friday at 3:30 pm. It's free, and leaves from the Hood Downtown on South Main Street (near Morano Gelato and the Nugget Theater) in Hanover NH. Read more about Resonant Spaces by clicking here.
EAR: 9/23-- Resonant Spaces, again. Whether you've taken the walking tour or plan to visit one or more of the installations over the next couple of months, Saturday is the occasion to hear from these 7 artists who are flying in from all over the globe to talk about their art. It begins at 10:00 am at the Black Family Arts Center in Hanover NH. Admission is free.
EYE: Ongoing--new exhibitions at the AVA Gallery in Lebanon NH. Artists Gordon, Marks, Bleicken and Woods are currently showing. Leah Woods will be giving a gallery talk on 9/23 at 3:00 pm.
