Officers said that after they arrived and began looking around they found Tyler Benson, 19, a resident of the Shady Lawn Motel in White River Junction, in one of the library's bathrooms with a 13-year-old girl.

The girl, who said she knew Benson, told police that Benson had just choked her and prevented her from leaving the bathroom and that nonconsensual sexual contact had also taken place against her will, according to police.

Benson was arrested and charged with Class A aggravated felonious sexual assault as well as Class B felony counts of felonious sexual assault, second-degree assault and criminal restraint.

Benson was initially held for lack of $30,000 bail at the Grafton County House of Correction but following his arraignment on August 18th his bail was reduced to $5,000 and he was subsequently released on Tuesday pending trial.
