He has four children, two grandchildren, and a new business.  The Engine Room is changing hands to Larocque on September 1st.  In addition to The Engine Room, he is providing the Upper Valley with a much needed night club, Club Diesel Sports Bar and Lounge that will be opening September 22nd.

Larocque’s passion for the nightlife business started over twenty years ago. He was a crucial part of the success at Electra Night Club holding such roles as Head Security. Electra Night Club was opened between 2001-2010 offering a place for Upper Valley residents to dance and attend events such as Battle of the Bands.

When Electra Night Club closed, it left a gap for many residents of the Upper Valley. Larocque felt this enormous gap.

“I’m going to change that!” Larocque proudly stated.

He spent time growing his passion through working at different clubs in the area such as Cactus Jacks and Time Out in Claremont, New Hampshire. But, possessing his own club was the ultimate goal.

“I’ve worked at every bar in the Upper Valley in some way,” Larocque specified.

The experience of working in different organizations throughout the Upper Valley taught him the lessons only 20 years of experience in the industry can teach. This is why Club Diesel Sports Bar and Lounge has so much to offer that Upper Valley.

Club Diesel Sports Bar and Lounge will be openly daily, offer club nights Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thursday and Friday evenings will be 18+, while Saturday will be 21+.  Offering a full bar and a menu of bar appreciate foods such as pizza.

Some of the offerings that will make it an asset in the Upper Valley are a large draft beer offering, 70" and 50" flat screen TVs that will be around the room for watching games, and at least three pool tables.

Larocque plans to host bands, comedians, The Battle of the Bands, themed nights such as 90’s, and DJs. Already in the plan for the Grand Opening event on September 22nd is DJ Vince 1, DJ Eric G, and the Morning Buzz with Greg in the Morning. Stay tuned for more specific details about the Grand Opening event in the upcoming weeks.

In addition to the plans for the Grand Opening, The Conniption Fits are booked for the upcoming weeks after opening.

Club nights will be reserved for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the rest of the week won’t be boring at Club Diesel Sports Bar and Lounge. Monday nights doors opening at 5pm offering pool leagues and public play. Tuesday nights will be open for public pool games. Wednesday, Larocque will be hosting an Upper Valley favorite of karaoke and open mic night.

Early afternoons on Sundays, they will be offering a substance free environment for the youth between the ages of 13-18. This event will have heavy security, offering them a safe place to have fun.

“Instead of playing games at home or hanging out in the streets, they can come here to dance and socialize.” Larocque stated.

Larocque was kind enough to answer the question on everyone’s minds. Will there be a Halloween party? YES. He was able to confirm that Club Diesel Sports Bar and Lounge will proudly be hosting a Halloween event. In addition to that, he was able to give me a sneak preview into the New Year’s Eve plans.

On New Year’s Eve this year, he is tentatively planning an Apocalypse themed party. “In the times we are currently living, it seems fitting” Larocque added, “Come out, get your zombie on.”

An ambitious goal like opening Club Diesel Sports Bar and Lounge is not something that can be successful without an outstanding team. Larocque has just that, he is keeping all the employees from The Engine Room and adding a few new faces. His son Richie Larocque will be joining his side as a beer tender and his sister Sherry larocque as beer tender and bar manager.

Larocque is welcoming this new challenge with creative energy that is unmatched. He loves to hear suggestions from the public on what events should be hosted. He intends to do the nightlife right here in the Upper Valley and fill a lingering gap. Please join him and his wonderful team on their Grand Opening on September 22nd.
