Two days, two drug busts in Thetford
Woodsville, NH men among those arrested
THETFORD, VT - A pair of men from Woodsville, New Hampshire and woman from Hyannis, Massachusetts were arrested for drug possession as the result of unrelated encounters that took place on Thursday and Friday with Thetford Police Officer Stuart Rogers.
Late Thursday afternoon Officer Rogers stopped Heidi Laven, 43, of Hyannis after he witnessed a "traffic infraction" take place on Route 113.
Rogers said in a press released issued Saturday that he noticed "several indicators of illicit drug use, while speaking to Laven and then, after she consented to a search of her vehicle, packaged crystal meth was discovered along with drug paraphernalia.
Laven was arrested and processed at the Bradford State Police Outpost before being released with a citation ordering her to appear on October 11th at the Orange County Courthouse in Chelsea to answer the possession charge.
On Friday evening, Officer Rogers made contact with Jason Cook, 31, and Thomas Harris, 26, both of Woodsville, NH, beside Route 113 at the Thetford Park-and-Ride where Cook was having some mechanical issues with his car.
Officer Rogers said that after he stopped to help he noticed several motor vehicle related violations while conversing with the pair and then he spotted drug paraphernalia inside the car.
After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, Rogers said he located several full bags of heroin as well as a small amount of crack cocaine.
The pair were arrested and processed at the Bradford Outpost and both were released with citations ordering them to appear for formal arraignment on October 25th in Chelsea.
Cook was charged with possession of heroin and driving despite having a criminally suspended license and Harris was charged with possession of cocaine.
