Vermont is seeking a dynamic professional to be a part of a national accredited Parks and Recreation
Department.  The Hartford Parks and Recreation Department
is a year round department servicing a population of 10,000 with a diversity ofleisure programs and comprehensive athletics.  The department manages the municipal pool,athletic complex, ice arena, conservation lands and public propertiesconsisting of thirteen parks. 


The
Superintendent of Parks & Facilities is responsible for overseeing,
maintaining and operating a wide variety of recreation facilities and parks. Responsiblefor scheduling, supervising and coordinating work crews and equipment. Thisposition includes shift work as part of a regular crew schedule, communityengagement and performing administrative functions such as record keeping,budget preparation and oversight. Knowledge in sportsfield/turf management, ice arena operations and maintenance.  Position is responsible for the assurance thatall parks and facilities are well maintained, safe and useful to the residentsand visiting public is required.


Preferred candidate
will have an
undergraduate degree in Parks and Recreation Facility Management, NaturalResources, or a related field.  Minimumof five (5) years of progressive responsibility in supervising municipal parksand facilities.  Must possesscertification as a Certified Parks & Recreation Professional.  Must have proven skills in park and facilitymanagement, personnel management, and financial management.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Officesoftware applications.


This
is an exempt position. The starting salary range is $42,896 to $45,857 with a
generous benefits package and retirement plan.
