dailyUV.com is pleased to announce that Demo Sofronas will be town ambassador for Norwich.
His column, About Norwich will cover the people, events and the news of Norwich. For those of you who don’t know Demo, We would like to introduce him.
Demo moved to Norwich in 1993, with his family to become the Postmaster of Norwich. He retired from the US Postal Service as Postmaster of Quechee in 2007.
Demo currently serves on the boards of the Norwich Public Library, Advance Transit and the Norwich Cemetery Commission. He is a former board member of CATV, White River Council on Aging and the Norwich Board of Civil Authority. Demo is a graduate of the Upper Valley Leadership class of 2012 and served on the recruitment committee for 2 years.
He is a member of the Norwich Lions Club with 23 years of service and is currently the Public Relations chair. Demo was the membership chair of the Lyman F. Pell American Legion Post Number 8 for 15 years, and currently serves on the Monument committee.
You may also recognize Demo as the crossing guard stationed on Church St/Marion Cross School crosswalk.
Demo currently films municipal meetings for CATV for Norwich and surrounding communities.
He is listed as a general handyman in the Norwich Women’s Club Directory--- (Editor’s note: Demo specializes in installing and repairing mailboxes. He knows the code.)
