Norwich teen accused of harboring a runaway
Pair were stopped in Corinth mid-afternoon Wednesday
CORINTH, VT - A Norwich teenager is being charged with unlawful sheltering of a runaway after police discovered the pair were passengers together in a car that was stopped Wednesday afternoon in Corinth.
Vermont State Police reported that Tyler Bowen, 18, of Norwich had been seen with the missing girl in Bradford earlier in the day and shortly before 3 p.m. dispatchers at the St. Johnsbury Barracks received several calls from concerned citizens who reported seeing the juvenile hiding in a vehicle in the Bradford area.
Troopers and Bradford Police officers were able to locate the vehicle on Brook Road in Corinth and conducted a traffic stop during which the juvenile who had been reported missing from Haverhill, New Hampshire was located. She was transported back to New Hampshire and placed in the custody of the Haverhill Police Department.
Bowen was issued a citation ordering him to appear at the Orange County Courthouse in Chelsea on August 30th to answer the unlawful sheltering charge.
