Hausler Appointed New Permanent Director of Hartford Parks & Rec
Formerly Served in Claremont
The Town of Hartford, VT, has announced the appointment of Scott Hausler as New Director of Parks & Recreation, effective Sunday, July 2. He has been serving as Interim Parks & Recreation Director and has served as the Town’s Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation since October of 2013.
“In that capacity, he has done a tremendous job for the citizens of Hartford and for many others throughout the Upper Valley,” said Town Manager Leo Pullar. Prior to going to Hartford, Hausler served as the Parks & Recreation Director for Claremont, NH, for more than 16 years. Altogether, he has over 26 years of experience as a Parks & Recreation Director.
“Scott and his wife, Pamela, are longtime homeowners and residents of Hartford. They have raised three children here and participated in many of the town’s Parks & Recreation programs. We are excited for Scott, his family, the Department and the Town of Hartford,” said Pullar.
Originally from Kansas, Hausler also served as Parks & Recreation Director for the Town of Sherburne, VT, for six years during the 1990s prior to accepting the position in Claremont.
He replaces Tad Nunez who left the director's position in Hartford, effective the end of June. The reasons for his departure were not made public due to laws that protect employee records, but Nunez told the Valley News that he was "'positively' leaving of his own volition." He left after 29 years with the town. Hausler stepped in as interim director to fill the vacancy.
