Two drivers sent to area hospitals
WINDSOR - A head-on collision on Route 5 above the Windsor Country Club shut down the highway for over an hour this morning while Windsor Ambulance crews took both drivers to area hospitals and Windsor Police investigated the crash.
Although the accident remains under investigation, initial reports suggested that an elderly female driving a black wagon crossed the center line and struck a large utility pickup truck belonging to the Dead River fuel company.
The woman was transported to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the man driving the truck was taken to nearby Mount Ascutney Hospital. Their names and conditions were not immediately available although Windsor Police expected to have more information available in the afternoon.
Route 5 was reopened at noontime
