Concerts in the Park around the Upper Valley (and a bit Beyond)

I grew up going to the concerts in the park with my mom.  I'd climb a tree and listen.  Hearing big band music still makes me think of those summer evenings.  I hope I can enjoy one this summer.

Woodstock

Thursdays at 5:30 pm Pentangle Arts will host a Brown Bag Outdoor Concert Series on the green. Concerts are free, but donations are welcome.  Pick up a brown bag, fill it and bring it the next week with non-perishables for the local food shelf. Rain location is Woodstock Town Hall Theatre.

Concerts are on Wednesdays. They start at 6:30 on the Quechee Green.

White River Junction

Concerts at on Wednesday.  They start at 6:30 at Lyman Point Park on Maple Street in WRJ. I like how the town includes the style of music as well.

Norwich

Norwich will have concerts on the green a few Fridays this summer from 6-8pm.

Claremont

The American Band and Ed Evensen perform every Thursday from June 29–August 17.  Concerts are from 8:00–9:00 pm at Broad Street Park (next to the firestation)

Hanover

Summer Free for All. Concerts on the Dartmouth Green and movies in Spaulding Auditorium occur on Wednesdays during the summer months.  It has been the HOP's successful campaign to make art accessible to all.  

July 5th 5:30 pm Corey Ledet & His Zydeco Band.  Enjoy this accordionist and his band. 

July 26 5:30 pm Septeto Santiaguero Cuban dance music from the 40s and 50s.

Aug. 9 5:30 pm Rocky Dawuni Reggae music that'll get you dancing.

Lyme

Lyme Town Band is a traditional concert band that began in 1840 and is made up of local musicians.  They will be performing August 8 from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM. Enjoy listening to marches, pop, "Golden Oldies", polkas, and light classics.  If it rains the event will take place in Fairlee Community Church of Christ, which is located next to the town common.

Lebanon

Lebanon has concerts on the green on Mondays and Thursdays at 7 pm.  Rain location is at Lebanon First Congregational Church on S. Park St.

Concerts are on Sundays at 2 pm, rain or shine at St. Gauden's National Historic Site. $10 Ages 16+, youth 15 and under are free.  Enjoy a picnic on the grass while you listen or bring your favorite lawn chair.

August 27: 12th Annual Rosamond Edmondson Memorial Concert featuring Jose Lezcano, Works by Fauré, Piazolla, Lezcano, and more for guitar, flute, and viola.

Strafford, VT

Concerts on the Common, every other Tuesday from 6-7:30.  Donations accepted.

This looks like fun.  A farmer's market with live music every Thursday from June to October from 5:30-8 at Clark Farm. Then there's a campfire jam afterwards for people to play their own instrument and have fun. There are also special events like Fablefest.

Fairlee is having its first summer of concerts on the green.  They will take place on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 pm.  If there is rain, the concert will move to Fairlee Community Church on the green.  You can learn more about the specific performances listed below here.

Ludlow hosts the Jackson Gore Summer Music Series from 6-9 pm on Fridays at the courtyard in the Jackson Gore Inn at Okemo Mountain Resort.  There are other great events and festivals at Okemo this summer like a Blueberry Festival, which you can learn more about here.  To learn more about the specific acts below see Okemo's events calendar here.  The Adventure Zone is also open for admission while you're there like the Haulback Challenge Course and the Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster and more fun to be had like trampoline bungee jumping.
