Home Invasion Robbery and Beating goes down in Wilder
Hartford Police seeking information from the public
WILDER, VT - Two men wearing masks burst into a residence on Hartford Avenue in Wilder just after two o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, beat a male occupant with a metal pipe, and then fled on foot after stealing an undisclosed amount of money.
"Based upon our investigation, it is believed this is an isolated incident and that the general public is not in danger," the Hartford Police Department said in a statement later in the morning.
The robbers were described as average height white men with athletic builds who were wearing dark clothing.
Two women who were also in the residence at approximately 2:13 a.m. when the home invasion took place were not hurt but the male victim was transported to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released later in the morning.
