Fairlee woman charged with reckless endangerment for speeding with kids
Stop took place in Thetford on Friday morning
THETFORD - A Fairlee woman was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment Friday morning after she was stopped for traveling at 93 mile per hour down Interstate 91 in the rain with two young children and another adult in her car, according to Vermont State Police.
Heidi Mays, 23, of Fairlee was issued several traffic tickets and a citation ordering her to appear at the Orange County Courthouse in Chelsea in August to answer the criminal charge, Trooper David Shaffer of the St. Johnsbury Barracks reported.
Trooper Shaffer said state troopers were conducting speed enforcement on I-91 South when they pulled over May's 2016 Toyota Camry at Mile Marker 85 shortly after 8 a.m. Friday.
