Congratulations to Marjorie Moorhead of Lebanon, N.H, our featured community prompt writer.
The writing prompt is a weekly writing challenge cosponsored by DailyUV and Joni Cole, author, founder of The Writer's Center in White River Junction, and believer in bringing out the inner writer in all of us.
What's a prompt? A trigger to get you writing.
Next week’s prompt is: "Is this seat taken?"
What’s the key to being featured? Well, DailyUV is a website for all things Upper Valley -- so what we like best of all are entries not just from local writers, but grounded in where we live.
You can participate by sending your piece (300 words or less) to email@example.com by next Wednesday at midnight.
Last week’s prompt was, “It’s about time.” Here’s our featured entry from last week.

It’s about time I found a way
I loved you.
It’s about time I found
My Poem is gratitude
My Poem is sorrow
for pain you carried.
My Poem is tribute
to your art; the amazing gift
you had and shared.
My Poem is release
I give you back to the world
I hope they find you
and hear your voice.
You were the Life of me
You were the Death of me
I am the rebirth of Me.
Congrats to all of our participants!

It's about time we made some changes around here. That said, inspired by the recent success of "Have a Good Attitude At Work Day," the company is establishing even more special days devoted to all the stuff you should have been doing in the first place.
Keep a lookout for:
• Don't Throw Your Trash in the Recycling Bin Day
• Exchange Pleasantries With Your Fellow Human Day
• Don't Key That Really Nice Volvo In the Parking Lot Day
• Eat Without Spitting Day
• Ponder Whether Or Not Mike Pence Is An Extraterrestrial Day
• Flush The Toilet After You Use It Day
• Don't Play Your Bro Country, Like, Ever Day
• Refrain From Flatulence Day
And much, much more.
We think this idea has great potential. As a result, we're kicking it off next week with We Think This Idea Has Great Potential Day.
Thanks for all you do to make our business a true hotbed of innovative employment practices.
Onward and upward, reach out with questions, yada yada yada.

It's about time I got up
and out the door
to the gym
to anywhere that I can claim as mine,
while you sleep on the couch
through the early morning hours,
the tv droning on
but there is always
some one little thing,
that morphs into seven,
cleaning the bathroom sink ...
that turns the clock to
10 minutes to being late
and so anxiety,
anxiety that I have let another morning slip by,
that I have not accomplished what i intended
relief that I have quelled the gnawing undertones
that whisper to me that to take care of myself is selfish;
I have fended off your disapproval, real or imagined,
of my right to live my life as I please
by tricking myself into thinking that
I simply didn't have time,
that all the little details mattered.
