3 Odd Uses for Coconut Oil

A multi-use miracle oil

Coconut oil contains those medium-chain fatty acids that assist in keeping our bodies healthy.  It can be purchased from farmers markets or just a standard grocery store.  That is neat, right? I smear that stuff all over my body, than starfish on my couch, while it soaks in.  Everyone knows that you can pan sear some pretty delicious kale with it too. I discovered coconut oil in the standard millennial way by reading about its health benefits online. I check WebMD more than I check my physical mailbox.  Since that day, I’ve added it to everything and smeared the stuff all over my body weekly. These are the top 3 odd uses for coconut oil. Add to popcorn instead of butter

Add a couple tablespoons of coconut oil into a microwave safe bowl, place on medium heat for 10-15 seconds. Long enough for the solid oil to make its transformation into a liquid. Drizzle this all over the popcorn and sprinkle lightly with sea salt. Now you’ve got yourself a semi healthy snack. This stuff is addicting, at first, I was concerned it would taste odd or be too greasy. It tastes just like butter! It is also no greasier than butter.

Removing Mascara

If you reading that made you say, sister I am not putting that stuff near my eyes! Fear not. I had the same inner dialogue. Heat the slightest amount between your fingers, apply to a cotton ball or tissue, than use the oil to gently remove the mascara from your lashes. It works like magic, I was impressed. It works fast and adds a natural shine to the lashes. I’ve heard that the saturated fat will improve the quality of the lashes overtime too!

Massage Oil

If you share the same love for food as me, you won’t have any problem bringing any into the bedroom.  Coconut oil nourishes the skin, leaving it soft to the touch. Rub a small amount in your hands to heat up the oil, than rub it over sore muscles.

Now, go buy some coconut oil!
