It's a good thing strawberries like wet weather. We've had plenty of that this spring! But, it's officially June and there are a lot of farmers starting to sell their summertime treats. Check out our calendar and check below for some farmers' markets. There's a lot going on this weekend. Here are some events that might interest you:

STRAWBERRY PRESERVES COOKING

WINDSOR

2PM

They’ll be sourcing super local early strawberries to make this classic preserve. They will infuse the fresh strawberries with pure Madagascar vanilla to make a decadent treat for triple cream cheese, Greek yogurt,or vanilla ice cream. In addition, they’ll be making a strawberry syrup for a cordial or "shrub.” Create a refreshing drink by adding water or ice, or add your favorite spirits for a cocktail.

CROSSROADS FARMERS’ MARKET

NORWICH

Join in celebrating the opening of Crossroad's new Farm Stand in Norwich! Featuring: Maple Smooth ice cream from Strafford Organic Creamery, Nitro Cold Brew from King's Row Coffee, Ground Beef Bites from Shire Beef & local Vermont cheeses. Also, they’ll be sharing some early spring recipes, printed out for you to take home and try!

ART SHOW:WOODCUTS RE-EXPRESSED

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION

Lili's pieces are beautifully-rendered and esthetically-honed woodcuts, printed, folded and sewn with papers unique to her genre. Stop by to see the show. Artist in residence, Anna, is also typically in the gallery from 6 - 10 p.m. each evening.  Feel free to stop in and watch her create sculpture pieces and ask about her polymer clay sculpting workshops.

Local produce, meats, cheese, and eggs fresh from the farm. Creative items sold by talented local artisans and crafters. There will be cooking tips and demos using market ingredients.

13TH ANNUAL WHITE RIVER INDIE FESTIVAL

The life a young woman, Ania, living in a nondescript German city, takes a dramatic turn when she comes across a full-grown wolf in a small park, resulting in a powerful, immediate connection between beast and beauty. While actor-turned-director Nicolette Krebitz delivers modest jolts in the first part of the film, we soon witness how Ania’s relationship with this famously untamable animal takes on proportions never quite seen on screen before. Not for the squeamish, Wild makes the 2014 Reese Witherspoon vehicle of the same title look like a walk in the park and gives a whole new meaning to what it means to unleash.

So begins “Dead Man’s Cell Phone,” a wildly imaginative comedy by MacArthur “Genius” Grant recipient and Pulitzer Prize finalist, Sarah Ruhl.
