Yoga + art + hiking = AWESOME
He-Art Opening Yoga Hike - Sunday, May 29 10:30am-2:00pm, Hall Art Foundation, Reading, VT
Are you looking for something extraordinary to do over Memorial Day weekend? I am so excited to tell you about this wonderful event that combines yoga, the great outdoors and art all in one! One of my favorite people in the UV, Amanda Anderson of Inner Lift Yoga in Barnard, will be bringing yoga into the quiet woods of Reading, VT on Sunday, May 29th. The hike takes place on the tranquil private property of the Hall Art Foundation that encompasses pasturelands, woodlands, and a gorgeous waterfall on Knapp Brook, a tributary of the Black River.
As part of this event, you will also be treated to a private tour of the Hall Art Foundation's fantastic collection, which includes works by Robert Mapplethorpe and Jeff Koons. Current exhibits include Hope and Hazard: A Comedy of Eros and Ready.Fire! Aim.
The Hall Art Foundation collection is housed in a renovated barn and farmhouse in Reading. VT
The 75 minute yoga hike will focus on opening the heart and will use the aspects of nature to enhance the experience. Be ready to be comforted by the view of Mount Ascutney as you do your heart-opening work, and then soothed by the sound of the waterfall as you open the hips.
Miss Amanda is just back from Sedona, AZ, where she received an additional certification in Kundalini Yoga, with focuses on the chakras (by the way, Miss Amanda is the only Kundalini yoga instructor in the UV, so if you are looking for this type of practice, please reach out to her!). Because the fine arts, like many yoga practices, says Amanda, opens the Anahata Chakra, the energy center at the heart, this combination of yoga, hiking and viewing one of the area's most engaging art collections will be an experience for the mind, body and soul.
Take your practice to another level near a tranquil waterfall
The yoga hike is $25 and preregistration is required so please email Amanda@innerliftyoga.com to reserve your spot. The art tour is free. Please bring a bag lunch to enjoy
