Crossroad Farm Stand: It's Spring. Opening Soon
. . . and soft-serve returns to the UV at the Dairy Twirl
Crossroad Farm has taken over the farm stand formerly occupied by Killdeer's, just outside of the village of Norwich VT on Route 5. It will open on Thursday, June 1.
During the weekend that follows, Crossroad will be hosting special events at the stand. You'll be able to meet some vendors and the Crossroad team that will be bringing veggies and other local products to your table.
For now, the new owners Tim and Janet Taylor and farm manager Phil Mason plan to keep the same hours as in the past. The stand will be open from 10:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The greenhouses in Post Mills VT are open now, daily from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. They have starter plants and herbs that could help to satisfy your seasonal cravings for greens.
The Dairy Twirl is located at 39 Mechanic Street in Lebanon NH. Open every day from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Spring also causes hunger for soft-serve ice cream. I await the opening of the Dairy Twirl in Lebanon NH each year, and the season is officially here. I have already indulged. Small cone only. There's an entire summer ahead to anticipate that first bite of a hot fudge sundae, or the healthier alternative, the banana boat.
