5 Unforgettable Road Trips to Take in Vermont this Summer!
You don't want to miss these destinations!
I love Vermont in the Summer. There are so many beautiful places to explore, but these are five of my favorite summer destinations around Vermont. Pack up the car and head out to explore these great spots!
- Hildene, Manchester, VT - The Lincoln Family Home was home to only Lincoln descendants until 1975. There is much to explore at Hildene, including gardens, walking trails, an observatory, and more. This is a great trip to make with kids. Plenty of room to move and an opportunity to learn about the history of the Lincoln family.
- Taconic Mountains Ramble State Park, Hubbardton, VT - Vermont's newest State Park features a gorgeous Japanese garden, walking trails and wildflower meadows. This is a great place to go for a peaceful walk and to see some beautiful views.
- Shelburne Farms and Museum, Shelburne, VT - This is a great day trip for the young and old alike. The working farm offers walking trails, a shop, a children's farmyard, tours and more. The museum is home to over 150,000 pieces of work. There is a cafe, carousel and they are always offering classes and interactive workshops.
- Stowe, VT - We take almost every visitor that comes into town to see Stowe. You can easily spend a day exploring the quaint, beautiful New England town. The Trapp Family Lodge boasts beautiful views, gardens, trails and more. There is plenty of hiking throughout Stowe if the weather is nice. Bingham Falls, Smuggler's Notch and Moss Glen Falls are just a few of the options you have. There are several dining options, a bowling alley, movie theater and more.
Willoughby Lake, Westmore, VT - Many people claim that Willoughby Lake is the most gorgeous lake in Vermont. It sits between Mt. Pisgah and Mt. Hor. You can swim at the public beaches, hike nearby, boat and fish.
