Nine Busted in Canaan
Police arrest sweep part of statewide `Operation Granite Hammer' effort
CANAAN, NH - Nine people were arrested Wednesday on warrants in a targeted effort that was carried out as part of the larger statewide Operation Granite Hammer drug enforcement initiative, Canaan Police announced Thursday.
Canaan Police officers were assisted by officers from the neighboring Enfield Police Department and the New Hampshire Department of Probation & Parole.
All of the defendants were processed and released on personal recognizance bail pending scheduled appearances at the Lebanon District Court on June 26th to formally answer the charges.
Lori B. Sanborn, 35 of Canaan faces a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Travis McCoy, 34, of Canaan faces charges of felony possession of heroin and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Saeti M. Tobin, 22 of Enfield faces charges of felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor transportation of drugs in a motor vehicle.
Charles “Asa” Neily, 34 of Canaan has been charged with felony possession of cocaine.
Alexander T. Allen, 27 of Canaan faces a felony charge of possession of methylphenidate.
Police did not immediately identify the other four individuals who were arrested beyond saying that they are an 18-year-old male and a 25-year-old female for whom bench warrants had been issued and a 26-year-old woman suspected of drunk driving and finally a 30-year-old woman charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
