33-foot Camper rolls over and shuts down I-89 in Grantham

Northbound lane blocked for hours on Saturday night

GRANTHAM, NH - Driver fatigue and equipment issues are "being looked at as possible factors" behind an accident Saturday evening that shut down the northbound lane of Interstate 89 near Exit 13 in Grantham for several hours.

    New Hampshire State Trooper Michael Arteaga was headed north up the interstate just before 9 p.m. when he witnessed the mishap occur.  

    Trooper Arteaga said that the driver of a large Ford F450 pickup truck, Micheal Tibbets, 67, of Garland, Maine, lost control of the 33-foot camper he was towing and it rolled over onto its side, blocking the entire width of the highway.  Tibbets was not hurt.

    The crash is currently under investigation and New Hampshire State Police are asking anyone who might have information regarding this crash to contact Trooper Arteaga at 603-271-1162.
