Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated East Coast Sales Manager who is enthusiastic about telling our story and building our brands with a go-to-market strategy that will increase distribution and company profitability. This position will oversee, develop and execute sales of our growing lines of products, with the support of inside sales. The East Coast Sales Manager is responsible for the development of an annual forecast, budget, and sales plan within the territory, while setting quarterly and annual objectives. The ideal candidate is self-driven with a natural ability to connect with others. Enthusiasm for fine cheeses and agriculture is a huge plus!


- 2+ years sales experience, preferably with experience in the natural, grocery, deli, specialty channel; or a strong knowledge of specialty food business [If you do not meet this requirement and believe you are still qualified for the position, please address this and explain why in your cover letter]

- 1 to 2 years in a sales manager role

- Must live in the NY Metro or New England area

- Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically

- Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal

- Confident presentation skills

- Detailed knowledge of account landscape of NY Metro region and surrounding territory a plus

- Must be able to travel 50-70% of the time

- Must be a self-starter driven by achieving results

- Knowledge of using CRM software a plus

- Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks

- Comfort working in a changing and growing environment

- Passion for local, artisan food movement and the process/story behind it


- Responsible for building customer relationships with the ultimate goal of telling our story, increasing brand awareness, and growing sales

- Work with existing two-person sales team and report to COO

- Execute short and long-term sales objectives, forecasts and strategies

- Analyze sales data regularly to monitor and ensure the achievement of sales objectives on total sales volume, gross profit, as well as to identify sales opportunities

- When needed, investigate lost sales and customer accounts

- Manage and maintain strong relationships with distributors, brokers and retailers to increase sales

- Identify and cultivate new opportunities

- Call on and visit key accounts to ensure distribution, ordering, programming, brand familiarity, staff trainings and proper visibility

- Prepare and participate in shows, sales meetings, and representative meetings for each account

- Submit and review a weekly account report with sales team

- Maintain accurate records for all existing accounts and target accounts within CRM program

Compensation: Salaried position, varies DOE, plus incentives based on profitability
