The Maple Leaf Children’s Center is looking for its next Director. The Maple Leaf Director provides leadership and
vision for the center’s programs and gives hands-on guidance to the staff and
Maple Leaf community to implement the mission and vision. The director managesall aspects of the program including staff supervision, budgeting and financialoversight, child recruitment, enrollment, and curriculum development. Thedirector fosters open and honest communication with parents, the Board ofDirectors, teachers, and the broader community. The director must demonstrateflexibility, creativity, and a commitment to working in partnership with thesestakeholders to promote a safe and welcoming environment.
Maple Leaf Children's Center is a non-profit, state-licensed children’s center has been educating young children since 1976. We are located on Thetford Hill and have been licensed by the Vermont Agency of Human Services to provide care for a maximum of 18 children at a time, and each year we serve about 40 Upper Valley families in school year and summer programs. Maple Leaf’s students range in age from eighteen months to seven years; for the older children, we serve as a bridge between their school day and their time at home with families.
Minimum Qualifications and Desired Qualities
-Knowledge of Vermont state regulations pertaining to licensing and accreditation.
-Current Vermont Pre-K to Grade 3 Educator’s License is strongly preferred.
-Supervision experience in a childcare center, elementary school or similar setting.
-Administrative, curriculum design, fundraising and budgeting experience in a childcare center or
elementary school or similar setting.
-The ability to support and work with a diverse range of families and children.
