Resisting arrest charged in Rockingham
Hinsdale man facing multiple charges
ROCKINGHAM, VT - Police say a Hinsdale, New Hampshire man fought their efforts to arrest him shortly before noon on Friday when they responded to a residence on Saxtons River Road after they received a report that he was there despite an abuse prevention order.
Jeffrey S. Bacon, 46, was taken into custody following a struggle with Vermont State Police troopers who said that when they searched Bacon they found he was in possession of regulated drugs.
The subsequent investigation also found that on Thursday evening Bacon had allegedly assaulted the victim that the restraining order was meant to protect, Trooper Colin Shepley wrote in a statement issued Saturday.
Bacon was lodged at the Springfield jail for lack of $1,500 bail and is scheduled to appear Monday in Brattleboro at the Windham County criminal court for arraignment on charges of first degree aggravated domestic assault, violation of an abuse prevention order, drug possession and resisting arrest.
