Alleged attempt to elude police near DHMC leads to arrest
Police say driver had a suspended license and marijuana
LEBANON, NH - A 21-year-old Lebanon man is facing several charges after an officer alleged that the suspect attempted to elude what was clearly about to be a traffic stop near the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on Friday afternoon.
Police say that Robert Blum of Wolf Road was traveling on Mount Support Road around 3 p.m. when an officer passed him and noticed that there weren't any license plates on Blum's blue Toyota.
As the officer turned around in an effort to catch up, Blum allegedly sped away and turned into the parking lot of a local apartment complex before hopping out of his car and walking toward one of the buildings, refusing orders from the Lebanon officer to halt, police said.
Blum was arrested moments later and charged with disobeying a police officer, possession of marijuana, and driving after revocation of his license, all Class B misdemeanors in New Hampshire.
Blum was subsequently released on personal recognizance pending his arraignment on the charges which will take place May 1st at the Lebanon District Court.
