Claremont Winter Fest Starts This Weekend

CLAREMONT, NH--The holiday festivities may be over now, but Winter Fest, Claremontʼs annual winter month-long event, is just around the corner. The Arrowhead Recreation Area has released a schedule of activities planned for this year. This year kicks off on Saturday night, Feb. 4th, with fireworks at 9:10 p.m. The schedule as it currently stands is as follows: Crown Point Pigskin 5K Road Race 2017 - Sunday, Feb. 5th. $22.50 (Standard charge) $12.50 (Children under 12). Kids Fun Run - 10:30 AM - free to all. Check-in/Registration on race day from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM, at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center. Race begins at 11:00 AM sharp. “The Live Free or Die Riders” fundraiser night, raising funds for a charitable cause - February 10th 6-9PM. All Arrowhead lift ticket sales will be donated to this fundraiser.

Moonlight Snowshoeing Excursion – Friday, Feb. 10th, Claremont Country Club at approximately 5:45 PM. Details and sign up online at www.claremontparks.com.

Try-A-Tri Indoor Triathlon – Saturday, Feb. 11th, inside the CSB Community Center Swim, Stationary bike, run, the event will start at 8:30 AM. Cost: $20.00, Sign up and details online at www.claremontparks.com.

Sweet Heart Skating Party - Sunday Feb. 12th, On Arrowheadʼs pink ice.

Arrowhead Mother/Son Tubing - Friday night, Feb. 17th, 6-9PM.

Father Daughter Dance – Friday, Feb. 17th 2017 at the CSB Community Center. Not just for dads! Here is a chance to make a great memory with that special little girl in your life. Dads, granddads, uncles, adult brothers or family friends are welcomed to accompany their date to the dance. Sign up online at www.claremontparks.com.

Arrowhead Pancake Breakfast - Saturday, Feb. 18th, 8-10AM, at the Teal Lantern in the Tech Center.

Cardboard Sled Race - Saturday Feb. 18th, judging starts at noon, races around 2:15 PM. Start building your sleds; cardboard and tape only with wax on the bottom. Complete information on Arrowhead web site, www.arrowheadnh.com.

H & R Block King & Queen of the hill tubing races - Sunday afternoon, Feb. 19th. Small entry fee, sign up before 2PM.

Relay for Life Fundraiser - Friday night, Feb. 24th, 6-9PM at Arrowhead; all ticket sales will be donated to Relay for Life. Arrowhead Fireworks #2 - End of Winter Fest Month- Saturday night, Feb. 25th, 9:10PM “There will be other activities ongoing within the City, plus Arrowhead may add other activities,” said Chuck Allen, of the Arrowhead Recreation Club.

“If any business, function or activity wants to be listed as a Winter Fest Activity, all are welcome, just send me details so I can add.” Allen added, “It would be great if groups, organizations or businesses could organize other activities like snow sculptures, broom hockey, cross country ski races or anything else winter you can think of to involve the whole community.
