Took advantage of confusion during a fire alarm

WEST LEBANON, NH - A hotel guest took advantage of a power failure that set off the fire alarms and, in the ensuing confusion, emptied out the cash register at the front desk of Baymont Inn & Suites on Airport Road in West Lebanon on Tuesday, Lebanon Police reported.

Robert Smith of Enfield, Connecticut was arrested by Lebanon Police officers

    Robert Smith, 45, of Enfield, Connecticut has been charged with receiving stolen property, a Class A misdemeanor in New Hampshire, and was subsequently released on $1,200 personal recognizance bail pending his scheduled arraignment on March 6th in Lebanon's district court.

    Lebanon Police said they were called to investigate shortly after the fire alarm was resolved when a desk clerk discovered that someone had removed the cash from the register during the disturbance.
