You can kill the proverbial two birds with one stone. It's Giving Tuesday, when charities and non-profits begin to make their pitches for end of the year contributions . And, it's the holiday season, when you may be looking to stave off that seasonal, what-do-I-buy-them-this-year, panic.

Attend to both, and do it now!  You can support the Good Neighbor Health and Red Logan Dental Clinics (celebrating a 25th anniversary of free medical and dental services to qualifying people in VT and NH) and gift your friends and family with treasures by Upper Valley artists by bidding in this week's online auction. There are Dustin Coates's signature turned bowls and photography by Jon Gilbert Fox and Martin Schunk (featured photo, above). Hand-crafted jewelry by White River Junction's Scavenger Gallery and a mirror by artist Naomi Hartov. Paintings, lampshades, Stave Puzzles.

If you are following the philosophy of giving your friends--or yourself--experiences rather than goods, you can bid on a juggling lesson, or nab a gift card to places like the Loch Lyme Lodge, Stella's Restaurant, or the Norwich Bookstore. Or Tatunka Tattoo.
