Dartmouth Professor to Speak on the WWII Coding Machine Used in the Movie "The Imitation Game"
Tom Perera will give an interactive presentation on the Enigma machine on Wednesday, November 30, at noon. Location is L02 Carson Hall (adjacent to Baker-Berry Library), Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH. Sponsored by the Dartmouth College Library Association.
About the Speaker: Tom Perera is a retired professor of neuroscience who specialized in research on the coding of information in the human brain and nervous system. His passion for more than 25 years has been finding, collecting, restoring, lecturing on and writing about Enigma machines. The Enigma machine that figures prominently in the movie “The Imitation Game” which tells the story of Alan Turing and his attempts to crack the Enigma machine code, was located and restored by Professor Perera.
