Hartford Police Seek Information in Series of Burglaries
The Hartford Police Department is investigating what appears to be a series of daytime, residential burglaries having occurred at homes in the Hartford Village area. Three additional burglaries have occurred in downtown White River Junction. The most recent burglary was reported Monday evening where the homeowner surprised a man (no further description) that had removed cash from the home located off of South Main Street before fleeing. In more than half of the fourteen incidents reported since August, suspects have entered the homes through unlocked doors, removing cash and coins, jewelry, electronics, silverware and other portable valuables.
Residents are reminded to close and lock all doors at night and before leaving home, and are further asked to report all suspicious persons or vehicles to police by calling 911. The investigation continues. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Officer Chris Aher at 802-295-9425.
