Walpole, NH woman dies in rollover crash on Route 12
Speed and alcohol may be factors according to police
WESTMORELAND, NH - A 52-year-old Walpole woman died Saturday evening in a single-car rollover crash on Route 12. State police say preliminary evidence suggests alcohol and excessive speed may have been contributing factors.
Investigators reported that Lorrie Valentine was headed north on Route 12 shortly before 8 p.m. when she lost control of her silver 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse just north of the Capron Road intersection and crossed over the southbound lane, went off the roadway, struck an embankment and flipped over, pinning her beneath the vehicle with fatal injuries.
The Westmoreland and Keene fire departments responded to the scene along with Walpole Police and the New Hamsphire State Police.
New Hampshire Department of Transportation crews helped shut the road down for approximately two-and-a-half hours while the crash scene was processed.
