The Friendship Family Program (FFP) at Dartmouth matches incoming international students with Upper Valley families. For twenty years, this has been a wonderful program that helps form cross-cultural friendships where students experience American culture beyond the college campus and families learn about cultures often half-way around the world. This does not require hosting your student overnight. Instead we encourage Friendship Families to invite their students over for meals, holiday celebrations and occasional family outings. Furthermore, it is not necessary to have a large family in order to join – single residents are also encouraged to apply!
We’ve already received a large number of applications from students and are in need of families to host them. It really means the world to international students to have moral support so far from home.
