Happy Monday! I bet you were all racing to you computer to check my blog to see if I followed through on my promised to go for a walk this morning! HAHA! Well, I did. I set my alarm for 30 minutes earlier, and managed to get out of bed 15 minutes after the alarm starting going off and I went for my walk. It was just over a half mile. Not bad for a start. I will have to increase my distance over time.
Yesterday I worked all day at my part-time job and managed to get almost 9,500 steps in. When you have a desk job 8-5, Monday thru Friday getting the recommended 10,000 steps (which equals 5 miles) is a challenge. I park farther away at grocery stores, I do make sure I get up and walk around at work, but it can be tricky when you are busy and well, your work is at your desk.
The .6 mile walk didn’t take me long this morning and it was a little loop near my home. I like taking walks that take me on a loop. I hate walking so far then turning around and coming back. I always say I am a one-way walker. I like making a loop. There aren’t really places for walking where I can make “loops” where I live so I will have to figure it out. I am determined.
