The Thetford Memorial Park Committee would like to thank all the people who have generously made donations, whether by mail, at the bake sale or town meeting, or by participating in the American Legion’s raffle. The money raised has helped clear and prep the soil, plant grass, and purchase trees, mulch, and fertilizer. The entire plan is a work in progress and may need to be divided into phases over a couple of years. However, we will be planting some of the trees as early as this weekend! Later in the spring or early summer, with the help and hard work of the American Legion, we hope to install and dedicate the stone monument. We are eager to start making the park a welcoming green space again, offering shade, beauty, and peace between the historic cemetery and church.
Please know that your contribution to this restoration project is appreciated by so many in the community beyond this committee. We hope you are as excited as we are to watch this village green gradually become a place of beauty to honor veterans and their families.
