Lia Rothstein, an Upper Valley photographer and mixed media artist, will be exhibiting her work in a solo exhibition at the Aidron Duckworth Art Museum in Meriden, NH from June 13 through July 26, 2015. An opening reception will be held on June 13th from 3 to 6 pm and the artist will discuss her work in a gallery talk at 4 pm during the opening. The public is cordially invited to attend.
Lia Rothstein has BA and MFA degrees from Boston University and she has been a professional photographer for over 30 years; exhibiting, teaching, curating, and promoting photography throughout her career. Rothstein’s work has been exhibited in solo, group regional, and national juried shows. Her photographs are in private, public, and corporate collections, including the Polaroid International Photography Collection. Numerous book publishers have utilized her photographs for covers and author portraits. In 2009 she opened the PHOTOSTOP Gallery in White River Junction, VT (now closed) that showcased the work of prominent national and local photographers and served as a community center for photography classes, workshops, lectures and public events.
The work shown at the Duckworth Art Museum will include a variety of mixed media processes and techniques: photographs printed on handmade Japanese paper, images combined with wax, oil paints, and encaustic, and a sculptural installation.
