Hartland, Vt., resident Tom Roberts has been appointed as the new Executive Director at the White River Junction-based nonprofit Vital Communities. Roberts has more than a decade of successful leadership experience in Upper Valley nonprofits, most recently as a Senior Philanthropic Advisor at the Vermont Community Foundation, and prior to that as Executive Director at the Ottauquechee Health Foundation in Woodstock.
"Tom's significant experience as a nonprofit leader and fundraiser, along with his personal commitment to the values and mission of our organization, will serve Vital Communities well," said Board of Directors Chair Ellen Arnold. "We’re confident Tom will guide Vital Communities to the next stage of its development, and we look forward to continuing our good work with many community partners under his guidance."
"Vital Communities is a core part of the Upper Valley, bringing people together around complex issues, creating fun and exciting opportunities for people and businesses in the region, and helping to find solutions to local challenges," Roberts said. "I am thrilled to be stepping into this role and look forward to working with such a vibrant and truly vital organization."
Roberts will officially take on his new role in mid-February 2015.
