King Arthur Flour invites the public to attend its second annual Bakers' Harvest Festival at the company's store, bakery/café, and baking education center in Norwich, Vt. The public celebration runs from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Saturday, September 6. The celebration will include hands-on baking education, interactive activities for kids and adults, an outdoor marketplace, and the return of our live baking competition - Scratched - featuring professional bakers from among King Arthur Flour's employee-owners.
The festival will also feature live music by Vermont's own singer/songwriter Jon Gailmor, and other family fun entertainment, including Emad the Balloon Twister. Leading up to the public festivities, on September 4 and 5 King Arthur Flour will host a baking education conference as well as a tasting supper for pre-registered attendees. The conference features hands-on classes and seminars from King Arthur Flour's experts and special guest instructors, including Gesine Bullock-Prado, former White House Pastry Chef Roland Mesnier (as full of funny stories as he is of baking knowledge), and more.
The tasting supper, a fundraiser to benefit Hunger Free Vermont, is scheduled for Friday, September 5. Diners will savor specialties from the Upper Valley's most popular restaurants, enjoy a glass of wine or local brew, celebrate fresh foods, and - the icing on the cake - combat hunger in Vermont.
