The weather on Saturday looks terrific for the Mountain Bike, Walk, Run-a-Thon this Saturday at Green Woodlands and we have a special check station for those coming to the event from Lyme. Just head out towards Cummins Pond on Dorchester Road and park right before the large Road Closed sign where the Cross Country Ski parking area is and bike up to Cummins Pond. Whether you’re “Going Places” by way of education, mountain biking, walking, running a more motorized type or just going to the breakfast table there is an activity for you at the Dorchester “Going Places” event.
Through the scenic forests of Dorchester, New Hampshire. Choose either a 3, 10, 15 or 20 mile route. Most of the trails are on dual track backwoods trails that will take you through Green Woodlands, a 22,000 acre woodlands property.
There are no motorized wheeled vehicles allowed on these trails so you will be able to interact with nature in quiet tranquility. You will be able to visit four remote ponds, the largest being Cummins at 160 acres as well as Trout, Pout and Mudgets Ponds
Pass by beaver bogs that are frequented by moose as well as numerous streams and cascades of the Mascoma River headwaters.
If your form of “Going Places” is ambling up to the breakfast table then this will certainly be worth the trip. Better yet, if you need to refuel from your Bike, Walk, Run or Drive this truly homemade meal will hit the spot. Pancakes will flow from 9:00 am until noon for the family friendly price of $5.00. Add to that a favorite drink, muffin or fruit cup for just a tad extra.

If your version of “Going Places” is the motorized type then come and join us with your special vehicle or just to enjoy seeing the menagerie of antique vehicles at this event.

The event is a fund raiser for the Dorchester Grange Scholarship Fund. The fund was established forty years ago to assist graduating high school students from Dorchester who desire the challenge and opportunity to further their education.
There are no registration fees or minimum sponsorship donations required for registration.
The event starts at 8:00 am on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Please arrive by 7:30 for check in.
Dorchester Historic Town Hall, at the intersection of North Dorchester Road and Town House Road right off RT 118 in Dorchester, NH. For those coming from Lyme there is a check in at the BarnHouse at Cummins Pond, park on Dorchester Road before the Road Closed sign where the Cross Country Ski parking is and bike up to Cummins Pond.
