but not quite free.
This is a 2007 24" iMac with a 2.8ghz Core 2 Duo "Extreme" edition processor, a 1tb (that's terabyte, not tablespoon) hard drive and 4gb of ram (memory, not the goat). It was the best iMac Apple sold until 2008 when the newer model some how made it obsolete and not worthy of consideration. Funny how that happens. But, as the price dropped from $2600 down to the current $475 - voila! Nice computer again.
Seriously, though, It will run any Mac OS X since 10.4.10 "Tiger" all the way to the current 10.10.4 "Yosemite" So if you had an overwhelming need to resurrect AppleWorks or an older version of Quicken... no problem. If you want the more secure and convenient latest operating system... no problem. You can even have both installed and jump back and forth as needed. Heck, it will even run Windows if you have a Windows Pro license.
This one is in good shape, looks pristine and exhibits no problems. I have completely erased the hard drive and installed a fresh, clean Mac OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion along with iWork '09 and iLife '11 and Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements. I have prepared it the way I do for my clients, tested the software and checked for any problems (none found). It is safe, secure and ready to rock.
