From Frank Bass, Superintendent of Schools:
We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Philipp Ackermann, Deputy Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission at the German Embassy in Washington, DC will be visiting Hanover and Norwich May 18th and 19th with a scheduled speaking engagement-- school-wide forum-- at Hanover High School. Joining the Ambassador in a panel discussion on world affairs will be Professor James Russell Muirhead from the Dartmouth Government Department, and former Ambassador at-Large and Director of Dartmouth's Dickey Center for International Understanding, Daniel Benjamin.
In addition, Ambassador Ackermann has generously offered to speak to our communities on the evening of Monday, May 18th from 4:45--5:45 on the Town Green in Norwich (directly in front of Marion Cross School). The invitation is open to any and all from our parents and community members, and we hope that you will have the opportunity to join us for this very special event. Ambassador Ackermann will provide a brief introduction and the reason for his visit, and then open it up to questions from the audience. MCS Principal, Bill Hammond and I will serve as facilitators and moderators of the event and each of us will have standing microphones available for all those who wish to respond with questions and/or commentary.
