Some highlights from the dailyUV calendar this week begin Tuesday with a Hood Museum lunchtime gallery talk, "Poseidon the Earth-Shaker, Feasting, and the Sea: An Archaeologist's Perspective" led by Julie Hruby, Assistant Professor of Classics at Dartmouth College. Later in the afternoon stop by the Hartford Area Career & Technology Center Open House to learn more about their programs and sample some culinary treats prepared by the students. If you are new to the Upper Valley or interested in connecting with other women in the area, come to the Women's Network of the Upper Valley event at the Howe Library beginning at 6:30 pm. Chiho Kaneko will be presenting a talk on Japanese society following the Fukushima nuclear reactor disaster.
With a fresh dusting of snow and warmer weather expected on Wednesday, go for a (free!) guided snow shoe tour around the grounds of the Enfield Shaker Museum to learn the history of the land and its earlier uses. Later that evening stop by the Norwich Inn for a wine tasting event to support The Upper Valley Humane Society. In addition to wine sampling, local food vendors will be at the Inn sharing their culinary creations.
