This time of year seed catalogs sit atop my reading list. Favorite old gardening books get looked at yet again for landscape inspiration, even when there is 2 feet of snow - and counting - covering last year's crop.
Fortunately I'm not alone in my quest, as there are several upcoming events that one can attend and tap into expert advice to get garden planning:
If you can get up to Burlington, Gardener's Supply will be asking us to think small with a Dish and Fairy Garden Workshop on Thursday. And beginning in March they will begin a series of Landscape Design Workshops for Homeowners that looks very promising.
And just because it involves farmers, and my plans include increasing my veggie patch, it would be fun to attend Farmer's Night at the Vermont State House this Wednesday. The Boston-based early music ensemble Seven Times Salt will be performing.
Finally, Janet Taylor from Crossroads Farm will be available to answer questions at the Peabody Library in Post Mills on Wednesday, March 25 at 7pm.
