We recently moved to a new house with long-ago established gardens that have become overgrown. There were even a coupling saplings in one corner of the garden, and the other day my wife asked me to cut them down. I got out my saw, put my head down and started sawing. I didn’t stop until I had cut down the saplings … and the beautiful azalea bush growing alongside them. I don’t know what got into me. I can’t explain it. I just starting sawing and never looked up.
Anyway, my wife’s furious and I’m no gardener. So I need ideas for replacing the azalea and restoring beauty in the gap I’ve created. Fast! (It’s on the south side of our house but partially shaded, if that helps.)
